Walk & Wade Fly Fishing

Boots in the water, a rod in hand: the most intimate way to fish Patagonia's small streams and spring creeks.

Included on Every Package

Slow Down, Get Closer

Not every day, and not every water, calls for a boat. Some of the region's best fishing is small stream and spring creek work: sight-fishing to a single trout, reading a run on foot, and getting close enough to matter.

Every lodge package includes a full-day professional, multilingual, native guide, whether the day calls for floating or walking and wading. Loaner Simms/Orvis waders, boots, and wading staffs are provided along with rods, reels, flies, leaders, and tippet, so you show up ready to fish either way.

Walk and wade days suit anglers who want to slow the pace down: technical presentations, careful approach, and the kind of close-quarters dry fly work that a small stream rewards.

Where We Wade

Small Water, Close Quarters

Arroyo Pescado Spring Creek

Thirty minutes east of Esquel, this spring creek is world-class sight-fishing: fish from 16 to 22-plus inches, in a season that runs January 1 through May 1 only.

Rio Tecka

A small stream fished on foot, rainbows and browns, in the same corridor as Caridad Lodge: the closest water to the lodge itself.

Nant Y Fall

A small, spring-creek-like stream holding rainbows to 18-plus inches, a quiet, private stretch of water and exactly the kind of place a walk-and-wade day is built for.

No single lodge holds exclusive access to these waters. Several are shared across the portfolio.
