Shared Waters We Fish
River · Closer to Rivadavia: also fished by Carrileufu · Early-season landlocked Atlantic salmon, hard-fighting browns and rainbows
Flows from Lago Cholila through the historic Cholila Valley (once Butch Cassidy's territory) into Lago Rivadavia, becoming the source of the Rivadavia River. Described by the source lodge as among the clearest water they fish. Best floated November–January. Also fished by Carrileufu Lodge, the separate lodge on the same lake: same word, different thing.
The Rio Carrileufu flows out of Lago Cholila and through the historic Cholila Valley (once Butch Cassidy's territory) before feeding into Lago Rivadavia, where it becomes the source of the Rivadavia River. The water runs among the clearest we fish. Early season (November–January) is prime, with landlocked Atlantic salmon in the mix alongside hard-fighting browns and rainbows, best worked by float.
